There is no preset facelift age, everybody ages differently.Generally the average age is rising because increased effectivity of non-surgical alternatives keeps patients happier over a longer time.
The majority of full surgical facelift patients will be 60+ years of age.In most patients who are younger, we will be succesful with scar free facelifts, micro fatgrafting and laser.

The definition of necklift as in compared to facelift varies from surgeon to surgeon, and is not standardised . We do mostly treat this condition with the so called “endolaser” technique, which means that excess submental fat is removed via laser, the laser also tightens the skin.
What timespan can the results of a facelift be expected to last for ?
There is different extents of facelift surgery where the surgeon works in different anatomical planes. Skin only resections in facelift surgery are, form my point of view insufficient though still practised.Deep plane facelift should last around 10 years , possibly longer.

In fair skinned individuals any problems with scars after a facelift are exceedingly rare. Should scar problems occur in fair skinned patients, the tend to do so behind the ear where I tend to distribute tension.Normally facelift scars heal more or less invisibly. In darker skin scar problems are more frequent, but not common, and can normally be treated conservatively.
What is the expected recovery ?
One week to 10 days, depending on extent of the facelift and personal predisposition. Scar free facelifts (Voluma) have no recovery.
Traces of the facelift after surgery can easily be concealed with make-up after that time should need arise.
What are the most common adjuncts to facelift surgery ?
Liposuction to the neck, in our practice especially laser liposuction, and volume augmentation with the patient’s own fat.
The combination of the two is the so called voluma lift and can in fact give very good results on it’s own without any facelift incisions.
Can I combine a facelift with a browlift ?
Yes , you can. It makes the procedure a lot more extensive though and there is significantly more swelling. Beware of combining a facelift with and eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) though.
